Every camper will spend five days on Duke University’s campus across various athletic facilities with Cameron Indoor Stadium serving as the homebase. Whether you’re practicing some shots in the K Center practice facility, working on your swing at the Duke University driving range, visiting the cold plunge tubs and saunas in Krzyzewskiville, or eating lunch in the Hall of Honor in Cameron Indoor Stadium, you will have an all-access pass to our premier facilities.

To be eligible to participate in the K Academy, you must be at least 35 years of age or older. Looking for a physical and aerobic experience? Sign-up to be a basketball camper or golfer! Want to spend time with our former players in a coaching role? Sign-up as a basketball assistant coach! Enrollment is capped at 120 participating campers to keep the experience intimate and embody the Duke Basketball experience.

Your K Academy registration covers you and one guest. There are portions of the event, such as the training/recovery areas, team meetings, practices, and games; K Club wine celebration, Rookie Cocktail Hour, etc. that are participant-only. Your guest is invited to attend the provided meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and dinners are geared towards adults rather than children. Spectators are allowed in the stands at Cameron Indoor Stadium and the K Center to cheer on your team in competition!

Each K Academy participant is responsible for their own transportation to and from Durham, North Carolina. Our campus is an easy 20-minute drive from the Raleigh-Durham (RDU) Airport. Check-in begins at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28th at the Washington Duke Inn, with the official Welcome beginning at 3:30 PM. Hotel check-out on Sunday, June 2nd is any time before 11 AM. Please note, the final event on the agenda is a Championship Celebration and K Academy Awards Banquet on Saturday, June 1st.

Campers stay at the Washington Duke Inn on Duke University’s campus. Your registration includes one room at the hotel (either a King or Double Double). The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club will be the hub for many K Academy events. The luxurious four-star resort is located on the Duke campus and is just minutes from the basketball facilities and overlooks the golf course.

Breakfast and lunch for all attendees will be served buffet style in a private dining area. The lunch menus will feature meals catered from local Durham favorites! Each night will feature a different social program and dinner, along with exclusive events (Rookie Cocktail, K Club Wine Reception, etc.)

For your safety, a team physician and athletic trainers will be on-call and available throughout K Academy. Duke EMS and Duke Life Flight paramedics will be located in both basketball facilities during games.

Throughout the K Academy, campers will have access to our Duke Men’s Basketball athletic training and sports science staff. We also have a cold plunge and sauna village set-up to support your recovery after a long day on the court or on the course.

The one-time cost of $13,000 includes meals, your hotel base rate, and all the camp amenities. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The K Academy can no longer bifurcate payments. A portion of your payment ($4,000) is a tax-deductible donation to Duke University.

A $2,500 non-refundable deposit will be kept if the camper cannot attend. If the camper cannot attend and their space is not able to be filled by May 1, the entire payment of $13,000 will be non-refundable.

A 10-week training program is sent out to all basketball campers, designed by our Duke Men’s Basketball strength and conditioning coach.

After submitting your registration form, you will receive an invitation to a private platform where you can connect with other campers in the K Academy family. You’ll be able to use this platform to share advice, ask questions, or meet-up with fellow campers! There is also a K Academy Facebook group which you are encouraged to join!

Whether you are on the golf course, wearing a jersey on the basketball court, or serving as an assistant coach on the sideline, we can assure you that your K Academy experience will be more than you can even imagine! Each year, every camper (rookie or veteran) leaves the K Academy with a unique experience, lifelong memories, and a bond with their teammates and Duke Basketball former players.
